Every year broken treetops are the cause of great value losses for christmas tree growers. At Maglesø Plantage we have developed a product to solve this problem.

TopProtect consists of a bamboo stick with two plastic pegs. The pegs are applied to one end of the stick.

The "birdperch" is applied vertically to the treetop prior to budding , thus preventing birds from damaging the new shoots. 

The perches can be reused. If applied correctly they can be used for at least 5 years. The pegs are designed to allow expansion as the tree grows. 

The plastic material is sufficiently flexible to prevent scars on the trunk. TopProtect is constantly developed and our latest model is designed so that it resists storms and mistblower spraying.

We suggest that  TopProtect is applied to trees that are expected to be sold the following season. About 2000 perches can be applied per worker per day.
